Important Information
Vintage Japanese Les Paul copies are so back! Finished in a rich wine red, the this Emperador Les Paul will make a happy edition to any vintage guitar collector's quiver.
With only a couple of known appearances in Australia, Emperador was founded by legend Jack Westheimer to export specifically to Chicago between the 1960s - '80s. The jury is out to which specific Japanese site this model was made, with mentions of both reputable factories including, Kasunga Company and Teisco-Gen-Gakki, alongside the likes of Japanese classic Japanese guitar brands Teisco and Guyatone. Emperador was also a part of the infamous 'lawsuit-era' sweep of the 1980s as production ramped down.
Little technical information is available online for this model, although this guitar does feature an almost entirely maple construction (excluding fretboard) and is exceptionally sturdy. The sound produced from the pickups can only be decribed as FAT. Especially with the gain knob cranked.
