Overview
Here we have a charming vintage guitar from the American "Sears Catalog" era. Prior to the boom of Japanese imported brands, Kay produced guitars for many American market under various different household brand names before it closed in 1968.
The K573 features an ergonomic auditorium-sized body with quite the dramatic cutaway, giving you easy access to the upper fretboard. Like many guitars from the time, the neck is not that speedy when compared with contemporary guitars. The neck is on the chunkier side with more of a 1950s profile. Tonally, this guitar is super unique. The body construction gives an organic-sounding, airy resonance. The namesake "Speed Bump" pickups are distincitvely jangly and bluesy, making it a stand out choice for blues, roots, country styles.
