Rex was a brand used by Gretsch in the early 20th century for student-grade instruments like guitars, banjos, and mandolins, often built by manufacturers such as Kay and Harmony. In Australia, the Lamberti Brothers produced Rex-branded amplifiers and guitars through their General Music Company until the mid-1970s. Today, vintage Rex instruments are valued by collectors for their historical significance and unique craftsmanship.
