Collection: KMD by Kaman

KMD (Kaman Music Distribution) was a line of guitar and bass amplifiers developed in the 1980s by Kaman Music Corporation, known for brands like Ovation and Hamer. Designed by British engineer John Cooper of Proamp, these amps were manufactured in the UK and distributed in the U.S. under the KMD name. The range included solid-state, hybrid (solid-state preamp with tube power amp) and all-tube models, such as the GV60 and GV100, which featured 6L6 power tubes and Celestion speakers. Notably, the GS65D was a 65-watt solid-state combo with a 12" Celestion speaker and a "British" voicing switch. KMD amps were recognized for their robust build and versatile tones, making them a choice for players seeking reliable performance. Though production ceased in the early 1990s, these amplifiers remain valued by collectors and musicians for their distinctive sound and durability.
