Herbert Schaffner

Herbert Schaffner was a German master luthier (1935–1995) based in Markneukirchen, crafting handmade classical guitars, often branded “Meifter” or “Meister”, within VEB Musima during the 1960s. His instruments, notable for solid spruce tops, mahogany backs and sides, ornate rosettes, and expert fan bracing, are rare collectibles praised for their rich tone and craftsmanship.
