Collection: Cimar

Cimar was a mid‑1970s to early‑1980s guitar brand launched by Japan’s Hoshino Gakki (parent of Ibanez), offering well‑made electric, acoustic, bass, and mandolin models built in the same factories as Ibanez, often as affordable imitations of popular American designs. Although positioned as a budget line, Cimar instruments earned a reputation among collectors for solid Japanese craftsmanship and vintage charm, with some players praising their tone and playability. Production ended around 1982, but Cimar remains a cult favourite for aficionados of Japanese‑made retro guitars
