Collection: Bigsby
Bigsby is best known for its pioneering vibrato tailpiece, invented by Paul A. Bigsby in the early 1950s, which became the first widely adopted “whammy bar” and revolutionised pitch-bend expression on electric guitars. Crafted using a spring-loaded arm and pivoting bar assembly, the Bigsby system allows smooth, subtle vibrato and adds sustain-enhancing mass, making it a favoured upgrade for hollow-body, semi-hollow, and solid guitars. After Bigsby ceased guitar production in 1966, the company focused solely on vibrato hardware and is now owned by Fender, continuing its legacy across classic Gretsch, Gibson, and others.
