BBE Music
BBE Music (Barely Breaking Even), founded in 1996 by DJs Peter Adarkwah and Ben Jolly, is a British record label known for its eclectic and genre-defying catalogue. Emerging from London's vibrant club scene, BBE has released influential projects across soul, jazz, hip-hop, funk, and house, including J Dilla’s Welcome 2 Detroit, Pete Rock’s Petestrumentals, and compilations curated by legends like DJ Jazzy Jeff and Louie Vega. With a commitment to “real music for real people,” BBE continues to champion both groundbreaking new artists and rare reissues, such as its acclaimed J Jazz Masterclass series and the Tabansi Records reissue project.
