B. K. Butler

B.K. Butler (Brent K. Butler) is the creator of the original Tube Driver, one of the first tube‑based overdrive pedals developed in the late 1970s and launched under the Butronics brand before partnering with Chandler in 1985 to release the iconic Chandler Tube Driver. Known for its rugged build, mains-powered operation, and warm, dynamic tube tone, favoured by players like David Gilmour, Eric Johnson, Billy Gibbons, and Joe Satriani, the Tube Driver remains sought after for its unique organic overdrive. Butler continues to produce handmade Tube Driver pedals under his Butler Audio label, catering to musicians chasing that legendary valve-driven sound.
