The Sony PCM-R700 is a professional‐grade 2-channel DAT recorder/player set designed for mastering and studio use. Featuring high precision 4-head transport, support for 48/44.1/32 kHz sampling, balanced analogue XLR and AES/EBU digital inputs/outputs, and Super Bit Mapping (SBM) technology for reduced noise during analog recordings, it delivers pristine fidelity and robust connectivity for demanding audio production workflows.

  • Supports three sampling frequencies: 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, and 32 kHz. 
  • Super Bit Mapping (SBM) function for high-quality analog-to-digital conversion during analog recording. 
  • Balanced analog inputs/outputs (XLR) and professional AES/EBU or coaxial digital I/O for full integration in studio setups. 
  • Tape speeds: 4.075 mm/s and 8.15 mm/s for DAT media, giving up to approximately 240 minutes at a slower speed.
