Important Information
Made in the short period before the Boss pedal branding came into effect, the AP-2 phaser was part of a small lineup of awesome sounding effects which included the AD-50 Double Beat Fuzz/Wah & the AG-5 Funny Cat Harmonic Mover. With controls for "Rate" and "Resonance" to change both the shape and amount phase of the sine wave, this analog phaser commands a large spread of smooth Leslie-inspired tones. Everything from a slow crawl to wide open tone manipulation comes out of this grandaddy. This 18V effect (two 9V batteries onboard) sounds very similar to a Roland Jet Phaser - just without the Jet feature.
