The BOSS HM-2 Heavy Metal is a compact distortion pedal engineered for uncompromising tone. Designed and made in Japan (1983-1988) it features a LEVEL control, DIST distortion, and dual-band COLOR MIX EQ for low and high frequency shaping. Powered by a 9 V battery or an optional AC adaptor, it connects via mono input and output jacks. Its distinctive high-gain “chainsaw” character became iconic in extreme metal genres and remains sought after by guitarists seeking a raw, aggressive voice.

This particular model is one of the very first ever produced in 1983.
