Leslie

Leslie is a historic speaker brand best known for its rotating speaker cabinets that create rich, swirling vibrato and tremolo effects by physically spinning drivers and baffles, a sound prized with Hammond organs and keyboards. It was invented in the late 1930s by Donald Leslie, first marketed in the 1940s, and later became part of CBS and then Hammond-Suzuki, who continue production and licensing today. Leslie cabinets have become iconic in jazz, rock, and gospel music for their organic Doppler-effect modulation and remain influential in both vintage gear and modern rotary speaker emulations.
