Charvette was a budget‑oriented sub‑brand of Charvel, introduced around 1989 to offer entry‑level “Super Strat”‑style electric guitars built primarily in Korea, with select Japanese‑made models like the 170 and 270 featuring better necks and alder bodies. Certain Japanese Charvettes gained a minor cult following for their solid playability and value, particularly models with licensed Floyd Rose‑style tremolos and 24‑fret necks. Though production ended in the early ’90s, these guitars endure as interesting vintage finds for shred‑style players on a budget.
